Academic / Careers Guidance Counselling

What is Academic and Careers Guidance Counselling?

Academic and Careers Guidance Counselling is a process that aims to provide teenagers and young adults with a clearer understanding of themselves and their potential for future academic and career development. It supports them in increasing their knowledge of their abilities, skills, interests, personality and work habits. This leads to the identification of personal goals and the understanding of the actual process of choosing a particular academic pathway or career by taking the appropriate measures to implement these objectives.

What does our Academic and Careers Counsellor do?

  • Use aptitude and achievement assessments to help students evaluate their interests, skills, and abilities.

  • Evaluate students’ backgrounds, education, and training, to help them develop realistic goals.

  • Guide students in the decision-making process regarding their academic pathways or careers, such as choosing academic areas within the final years of secondary education (e.g.: A-levels and International Baccalaureate), as well as the type of degree and profession to pursue.
